Golden Knights goalie Marc-Andre Fleury has put his custom Southern Highlands home on the market for $2.5 million. The single-story home, built on a .63-acre lot in 2015, measures 5,285 square feet and has a 717-square-foot casita and three-car garage. It has five bedrooms and six baths. Fleury bought the home from former NHL player and fellow Canadian Sheldon Souray, according to public records. When he signed his three-year, $25M contract extension over the summer, Fleury told the media he and his family love Las Vegas and cited its great schools and neighborhoods with a lot of things for kids to do. Knights’ fever grips Las Vegas

Golden Knights fever is gripping Las Vegas as the second round of the NHL playoffs continue. Longtime observers of the local sports scene are comparing to the team’s popularity to that of the UNLV basketball team during its heyday. It has been 27 years since UNLV last played in the Final Four. Knights goalie Marc-Andre Fleury was only 5 years old when the Rebels beat Duke to win the 1990 national championship. “You’d go to the bank, and everybody would ask how the Rebels were going to do against Oklahoma, against LSU. I think what is happening (with the Knights) is similar. The most important part is that it is uniting the community like UNLV basketball did.”

Amazon plans 800K-square-foot warehouse in North Las Vegas

A new Amazon warehouse could bring over 1,000 jobs to the Las Vegas Valley. Amazon executives are expected to announce plans Wednesday to build a 800,000-square-foot fulfillment center in North Las Vegas. The new warehouse is expected to be at a new industrial complex under construction near the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. The new facility is expected to pack and ship small items such as books, toys and household items. Amazon says the company will offer “competitive” pay and “comprehensive benefits starting on day one.” “This is Amazon’s third facility in North Las Vegas,” Mayor John Lee said. “A repeat customer is the best kind of customer, because it’s a testament to the quality we’re putting out and the results they’ve had in North Las Vegas.”

Mel Brooks plans encore at Encore in April

Buoyed by his sold-out premiere on the Strip last summer, Mel Brooks returns to Vegas in the spring. The 91-year-old Brooks says, “I love Las Vegas, I really do. … There’s nothing like the Vegas vibe.” The show will cover such films as “Blazing Saddles,” “The Producers” and “Young Frankenstein.” Matt Goss is back on the Strip, at 1 Oak nightclub at The Mirage. He was joined by his twin brother, Luke, in his debut at the club on Saturday.
