Photographer captures art of downtown’s graffiti in new show

A new exhibit featuring photography by Steven Dansky is scheduled to open March 19 and continue through May 19 at the Sunrise Library, 5400 Harris Ave. The show not only explores the artistic and cultural nature of graffiti, it uses graffiti as the starting point for unique art.

Henderson resident’s tragic fall depicted in new film

On Oct. 7, 2008, then-Henderson resident Kim Dreske was visiting her father in Park City, Utah, when she fell from a four-story balcony. On Jan. 26, a pair of Las Vegans screened “Redemption of the Fall,” their film about the incident, Dreske’s recovery efforts and her father’s inventiveness during the Sundance Film Festival, within a few hundred feet of the balcony from which she fell.
