A bill that would appropriate nearly $1.3 million to equip 481 Nevada Highway Patrol troopers with body cameras by 2017 was amended and approved Friday by the Senate Finance Committee. Senate Bill 111 will now go to the full Senate for consideration as a Monday deadline for the 2015 session to adjourn looms.

A bill allowing hearsay evidence in some preliminary court proceedings was approved by the Nevada Senate on a party-line vote Saturday.
The Clark County district attorney testified Wednesday in support of Assembly Bill 193, which would allow hearsay only in some cases that involve child abuse or sexual assault or felony domestic violence.
