Social workers and trucks, a match made at the dealership

When Ford Motor Co. revolutionized its 2015 F-150, the long-awaited model was already riding a wave at Friendly Ford for countless reasons.

The all-aluminum body, considered a huge selling point in the highly competitive world of trucks, has led the way for impressive sales results especially considering the vehicle's multifaceted design.

Built Ford Tough has been a motto for the automobile manufacturer for many years and the 2015 truck has a laundry list of selling points that continue to make it a hit at the dealership.

With high-strength, military-grade, aluminum-alloy body and steel frame for less weight and greater strength, the 2015 F-150 was named Best-in-Class 12,200-pound towing or 3,300-pound payload.

The F-150 received the ultimate stamp of approval when it was granted the five-star Overall Safety Rating by the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration. It has improved power-to-weight ratio across the entire four-engine lineup for greater performance.

In fact, the construction business has been among the dominant industries capitalizing on the purchases of F-150s from Friendly Ford. And the recovering construction industry shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon in Southern Nevada.

The F-150 has an array of engines that include the 2.7-liter Eco-Boost V-6, the 3.5-liter V-6 with 325 horsepower, 3.5-liter twin-turbo EcoBoost VCT V-6 and the 5.0-liter Ti-VCT V8 with engine horsepower ratings ranging from 282 to 385 horsepower.

Among the recent buyers of the 2015 Ford F-150 was Las Vegas clinical social worker Bryan Link, whose Ruby Red Metallic model perfectly illustrated Ford's all-inclusive list of amenities.

Link landed his Ford Lariat Series that included the 3.5-liter EcoBoost V-6 with 365 horsepower and 420 pounds of torque; a six-speed automatic transmission; a twin-panel moon roof; skid plates; 275/55R20 BSW All-Terrain tires and 20-inch six-spoke aluminum wheels; trailer step; the Ford Technology Package; and the 36-gallon extended range fuel tank.

Link is a prime example of dedicated buyers of Ford trucks that have dominated the market for the past 38 years. He will be towing a 33-foot travel trailer with his new truck.

"I have a state National Association of Social Workers conference that I'm attending," said the 56-year-old Link. "Rather than staying in a hotel, I am going to stay in my travel trailer."

Link said he bought a Ford because it's the No. 1 selling truck in the country.

"This is my fourth Ford vehicle," said Link. "It's my third from Friendly Ford."

Further information can be found by calling 702-870-7221 or by visiting www.friendlyfordlv.com. The dealership has been situated at 660 N. Decatur Blvd. since 1970 and serves as one of the city's oldest of its kind in the car business.
