“Emotional pain is not something that should be hidden away and never spoken about. There is truth in your pain, there is growth in your pain, but only if it’s first brought out into the open.” — Steven Aitchison
People often tend to ignore their mental health because of the social stigma associated with it. People feel uncomfortable talking about it because society still judges those who openly talk about their pain. This outlook needs to change to create a better place for all of us to live in. Dr. Neeta Bhushan, a mental health advocate, is treading this path, transforming millions of lives by sharing her experiences.
Dr. Neeta Bhushan became a mental health coach after realizing her inner grit and resilience that helped her overcome all the challenges she’s faced so far. She knows that challenges are inevitable in life, and without them, humans cannot grow. It is not the pain that matters in the end; what matters is how much stronger someone becomes from it. To help people realize their inner strength and grit, Neeta co-founded both Global Grit and Dharma Coaching Institute.
At Global Grit Neeta and her team focus on the mental health of entrepreneurs. Realizing the cutthroat competition in the market at present, brands are consistently under pressure to scale up their sales. This often requires a series of brainstorming sessions that can be mentally exhausting for an entrepreneur. Also, the stress of successfully running a company or a business often leads to anxiety, depression and impacts your overall mental health. Neeta realized this underlying problem for entrepreneurs that almost always leads to failed businesses or multiple health issues. Global Grit is an initiative to help these people discover their mental and emotional grit to overcome any challenge with grace.
Mental and emotional health is also crucial for students who are constantly under pressure to prove themselves academically. While the parameters to analyze a student’s ability to excel academically is still in question, it unnecessarily stresses them out, often leading to depression. Dharma Coaching Institute is another of Neeta’s initiatives to help students find their true purpose in life. Once students find their forte, they will not be stressed about excelling in something that’s not their cup of tea.
Dr. Neeta believes that it is never too late to start living a happier life. Positivity is important in everyone’s life. It is all about living in a positive surrounding and creating one for others. She is on a similar mission to impact the lives of millions in a positive way. She wants people to know that it is okay to leave a relationship that doesn’t make you happy or that it’s fine to leave a job that doesn’t let you grow. Stress can make anyone weak and reduce their inner potential. Anything that disturbs your mental peace is not worth your time and effort.
Going forward, Neeta wants to expand her reach to more and more people and help them live happier lives. Her message to everyone is to enjoy the gift of life that we all have and not ruin it because of painful circumstances that we come across.
