Most people don’t use Presidents Day to commemorate our country’s leaders or the specific presidents born in February, namely George Washington and Abraham Lincoln. Instead, the annual Monday off is usually spent enjoying time with family and friends, catching up on errands, or capitalizing on sales at retailers.
With help from BeFrugal and DealsPlus, GOBankingRates found a host of deals on apparel and home goods to save you money this Presidents Day weekend 2015.
Presidents Day 2015: Best Sales and Discounts
Aéropostale: Code FACTORY10 will get shoppers an extra 10 percent off on top of already large discounts of up to 70 percent through Feb. 17. This coupon will also give shoppers 15 percent off their total purchases through Feb. 28.
Avenue: The plus-size women’s retailer is offering $25 off purchases of $100 with code AV152115. Free shipping also applies on purchases over $150.
Bath & Body Works: Shoppers this weekend will receive a free signature item and get 20 percent off items sitewide when purchasing online, restrictions apply. This discount is good through Feb. 22.
Best Buy: DealsPlus has a variety of deals available for Best Buy, including $5 off $60, $10 off $75, $15 off $100 and $30 off $150 in purchases.
Carter’s: Shop for your children’s clothing at Carter’s and receive 15 percent off your purchase total through Feb. 28. Code BIGSALE is good through Feb. 16 and will lead to savings of 25 percent in addition to already large discounts of up to 50 percent.
Calvin Klein: Save up to 60 percent on sale items and receive free shipping on your purchases of $99 or more.
Crate & Barrel: Through March 2, save up to 20 percent on beds, mattresses and bedding purchases.
The Children’s Place: The children’s store will be offering discounts of up to 50 percent for its Presidents Day Weekend Sale.
Guess: Code LOVEGUESS will save you an extra 15 percent off already discounted items, marked down by as much as 70 percent.
The Home Depot: The home-improvement retailer is offering a number of deals; however, those interested in purchasing appliances this Presidents Day weekend can save hundreds with $300 off purchases of $396 or more.
JCPenney: Clearance items are marked down by 50 to 75 percent.
Kmart: Get 10 percent off your purchase of $75 or mroe with online code KMART10PSAVINGS. According to DealsPlus, HDTVs will also be marked down by 20 percent.
Kohl’s: Jewelry and watch orders from the retailer will be discounted by $10 for purchases of $50 or more.
The Limited: Free shipping is available on orders of $125 or more and all sale items are an extra 40 percent off.
L.L. Bean: The outdoor retailer’s Presidents Day Sale includes discounts up to 60 percent and free shipping with no purchase minimum.
LOFT: Save an extra 50 percent on sale items this weekend.
Macy’s: Presidents Day sale items are discounted an additional 20 percent. Additionally, those who make their purchases online can receive free shipping on orders of $75 or more through Feb. 16. According to DealsPlus, code FAVES will get shoppers 20 percent off their purchases and free shipping when they spend over $99 through Feb. 16.
OshKosh B’gosh: Save 20 percent off your order of $40 or more with code FEBOKBG through Feb. 28.
Ralph Lauren: Select styles will be discounted through Feb. 19 by as much as 75 percent. Code RLSTG15 will give you $25 off your purchase of $150 or more, $50 off $250 or more, $125 off $500 or more and $200 off your purchase of $750 or more, according to DealsPlus.
Sears: Take advantage of the department store’s winter clothing clearance and save $5 off $50 with code SEARS5OFF50. Appliances are also marked 25 percent off with additional $35 off items $350 or more.
Tory Burch: Enjoy a whole 50 percent off when shopping this designer’s Presidents Day Sale. Valentine’s Day gifts also receive free shipping.
Walmart: The store’s Presidents Day Sale features online deals on TVs, mattresses and electronics through Feb. 16.
