Scientific Games to acquire Canadian table-game provider

Las Vegas-based Scientific Games is acquiring a small Canadian table-game provider in a $21 million (U.S.) deal announced Wednesday.

The acquisition of DEQ Systems, Levis, Quebec, is expected to be accretive to earnings and cash flow in 2017. The deal is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2016 or the first quarter of 2017.

DEQ, which operates 800 EZ Baccarat games in 150 casinos worldwide, generated $9.5 million (Canadian) in revenue in the 12-month period from June 1, 2015, to May 31.

The deal is subject to DEQ shareholder and regulatory approvals.

“Their (DEQ’s) established and high-performing library of table games, table progressives and random bonusing systems will enhance our offerings, add to our recurring revenue base and provide even more ways for casinos to engage players through Scientific Games’ extensive end-to-end casino portfolio of gaming machines, casino systems, table products and interactive solutions,” Roger Snow, Scientific Games’ senior vice president of table and utility products, said in a statement announcing the transacti0n.
