City National Bank on Tuesday named John Wilcox its Nevada regional executive, replacing veteran banker Larry Charlton, who retired at the end of April. Wilcox, 57, will also serve as regional banking manager for Core Banking, overseeing City national’s branches in Nevada and San Diego.
Wilcox joined City National in 2009 as Nevada regional banking manager for Core Banking. As the Nevada regional executive, Wilcox will report to Chris Warmuth, president of City National Bank.
“We’re excited for John to step into this position as head of the bank in Nevada,” said Warmuth. “(His) experience and understanding of Nevada makes him uniquely qualified to serve in this capacity.”
During his 31-year banking career, Wilcox spent time at U.S. Bank, overseeing the bank’s branches statewide, as well as serving as Las Vegas area manager at Valley Bank of Nevada and as Southern Nevada Loan origination manager at the former California Savings and Loan.
City National Bank, a wholly owned subsidiary of City National Corp., has nine branches in Nevada, including five in Las Vegas and one each in North Las Vegas, Reno, Carson City and Minden.
