March 29, 2008 - 9:00 pm
The 28th edition of Las Vegas Perspective, an annual publication of Las Vegas demographics and business statistics, will be released Thursday at an economic forum at the Rio.
Breakfast is served at 7:30 a.m. The program starts at 8 a.m. with featured speakers Gov. Jim Gibbons, Nevada Development Authority Chief Executive Officer Somer Hollingsworth and Jeremy Aguero, principal of Applied Analysis, a Las Vegas financial consultancy.
Admission is $75, which includes a copy of the 2008 Las Vegas Perspective.
The full-color publication provides data on local demographics, business and industry, retail, community, real estate and tourism. It features economic, demographic, government, business and lifestyle information related to Southern Nevada.
Las Vegas Perspective serves as an important resource for many Southern Nevada businesses and organizations, Applied Analysis principal Brian Gordon said.
"With so many questions concerning the Southern Nevada economy, the housing market, public finance and other important issues, this year's event is expected to provide valuable insight," he said.
The book is published by the nonprofit Metropolitan Research Association. Sponsors are the Las Vegas Review-Journal; Applied Analysis; Nevada Development Authority; KLAS-TV, Channel 8; the University of Nevada, Las Vegas College of Business; and Wells Fargo.
