Beauty queen suing tour bus company for injuries suffered in crash

A Nevada beauty queen is suing a California-based tour bus company for injuries she suffered in a June crash.
The crash occurred when the driver of a USAsia Casino Tours bus attempted an illegal U-turn on Interstate 15 near Moapa. Tracy Rodgers, who was crowned Ms. Nevada 2011 and Mrs. Nevada in 2007, struck the rear of the bus with her car. She was injured and airlifted to University Medical Center.
The company's license was revoked about two weeks before the crash after it failed to provide proof of insurance, authorities said.
Records show the company, based in the San Francisco Bay Area, had an active business license in California.
Eight passengers on the tour bus were hurt but did not suffer major injuries.
According to a statement released by Rodgers' attorney, Bob Massi, "the driver of the bus informed (the) Nevada Highway Patrol that he was en route to (the) Hoover Dam but realized he was going the wrong way."
The lawsuit was filed in Clark County District Court last week.
