Fatal stabbing victim identified as 50-year-old man

A man found stabbed to death on a central valley street early Wednesday morning has been identified by the Clark County coroner's office.
John Edward Wales, 50, of Las Vegas, died from multiple stab wounds and cuts, the coroner's office said.
Las Vegas police said they were called about 1:40 a.m. to the 5400 block of Holmby Avenue, near the Charleston Boulevard and Lindell Road intersection, where officers found Wales' body near his vehicle.
A "person of interest" was detained, but not arrested, police said Wednesday afternoon.
