Henderson police seek missing Missouri woman, 78

The Henderson police department has asked for help in its search for a missing 78-year-old woman.

Verna Lee Roberts was reported missing by family members who have not heard from her since Wednesday.

Police said Roberts, who is from Missouri, was traveling to a Dwight Yoakam concert in California when her teal 1993 Oldsmobile Cutlass broke down in Henderson.

When she last spoke to family members by cell phone Wednesday, Roberts said a repair shop wanted too much money to fix the car. She also said she had met a woman and her husband at a local casino.

Police said Roberts and an unidentified man retrieved her car from a Henderson repair shop on Wednesday.

Roberts' family has not been able to reach her since.

Police described Roberts as white, approximately 5-foot-4 and 100 pounds. She has red hair and brown eyes. She has extremely high blood pressure and has had heart bypass surgery.

Her car has Missouri license plates.
