Las Vegas gang detectives investigate non-fatal shooting

Gang detectives with Las Vegas police are investigating a shooting that occurred in the central valley early Saturday morning.

According to Metro supervisor Lt. Michael Wallace, police responded to reports of a shooting at 5:45 a.m. in the parking lot of the Red Label Lounge, 332 W. Sahara Ave.

Police found blood when they arrived, but could not find a victim, Wallace said. A short time later they were notified that a person had arrived at University Medical Center with gunshot wounds.

The person was rushed into emergency surgery with life-threatening injuries, but is expected to survive, Wallace said.
