Las Vegas police ID naked man they say threw rocks

Las Vegas police identified the naked man they said threw rocks at and threatened SWAT officers in a northwest valley neighborhood Thursday.

Arrest records identified 22-year-old Anterio Sloan, who they said was acting erratic and talking to himself near Lake Mead Boulevard and Mariner Drive. When officers approached him, he started waving around a butcher knife.

Sloan ran off into nearby backyards, climbed onto a rooftop in the 8000 block of Secret Harbor Court and began throwing rocks, leaving baseball-sized dents on a patrol car and breaking the front window of a nearby home.

When he ran out of rocks, police said, he started throwing roof shingles.

Then he he took his clothes off. He appeared to be thrusting his hips and masturbating, the report said.

Nearby residents were evacuated, and a SWAT officer shot the naked man in the right bicep with a non-lethal shotgun after a three-hour standoff. He submitted to police on the driveway and was taken into custody.

The man caused more than $5,000 in damage to nearby homes and vehicles. Sloan was arrested on charges including resisting a police officer with a deadly weapon, 7 counts of assaulting a police officer with a deadly weapon and open and gross lewdness.

Police did not provide a mug shot.
