Las Vegas police stop bullet-riddled car, find wounded driver

Las Vegas police are investigating a shooting Saturday night after one man is hospitalized.

The northbound lanes of Decatur Boulevard between U.S. Highway 95 and Bonanza Road were closed much of the afternoon for the investigation, but one of the northbound lanes opened back up later in the evening.

Police said officers spotted a car with bullet holes and a shattered window driving on the Decatur Boulevard off-ramp from U.S. 95 at about 3:40 p.m. They pulled the vehicle over and discovered the driver suffering from gunshot wounds, according to Metropolitan Police spokesman.

The unidentified driver was taken to University Medical Center, where he is listed in critical condition.

Police released little information about the shooting, but said it may be related to a suspicious call they received a half hour earlier about a man who had a bad drug deal a few miles away at Lake Mead Boulevard and Bangle Street.
