Man identified in fatal east valley shootout
The man slain in what Metro described as an east valley shootout Saturday has been identified by the Clark County coroner's office as 28-year-old Jairo Garcia.
Metro found a vehicle connected to the shooting, but two men were still being sought.
Police were called about a shootout in the 3900 block of East Owens Avenue about 4:30 p.m., police said. Nearby they found Garcia inside a white 1990s GMC Yukon suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. They also found a gun.
Garcia, who was described as having gang-related tattoos, died at University Medical Center.
Witnesses told police that Garcia and two men in a 2015 Chrysler 200 were in a shootout, police said. The sedan fled and was found hours later.
Metro is looking for the two men, who witnesses described to Metro as being Hispanic, police said. One of them wore his long hair in a ponytail.
The motive of the shooting remains unknown, Metro said.
