Man stabbed in neck outside Siegel Suites

Police have arrested a man after a 20-year-old was stabbed in the east valley early Saturday morning.

Raymond Jackson, 27, faces a charge of attempted murder with a deadly weapon after police said he stabbed Francisco Alcantara, 20, near Boulder Highway and Nellis Boulevard just after midnight.

Jackson attacked Alcantara from behind and stabbed him in the neck, paralyzing him from the waist down after a previous argument over drugs, according to Alcantara’s statement.

Alcanatra told police he walked out of a Rebel gas station and heard footsteps from behind when Jackson attacked him.

Responding officers found Alcantara lying motionless in the parking lot of the Siegel Suites bleeding profusely from his head and neck.

Upon his arrest, Jackson thought he had killed Alcantara and was relieved to hear he was still alive, according to his arrest report.
