Man suspected of stealing copper from veterans building arrested

A man suspected of stealing copper from a U.S Veterans building on July 26 was arrested the next day, Las Vegas police said Thursday.

A witness said he saw Jason Samuel Larussa, 36, robbing copper from the building in the 500 block of East Bonanza Road by the Las Vegas Boulevard intersection, police said.

The next day, the witness called police when he saw the same man in the 2400 block of Bonanza, police said.

Larussa was arrested on an unrelated charge, and detectives later found out he was suspected of stealing the copper.

Larussa is being held in the Clark County Detention Center and faces felony charges, including two counts of theft and burglary.
