Police identify suspect shot by officers Sunday

Brandon Ogonowski, 28, the man who exchanged gunfire with police officers early Sunday, remains hospitalized and was booked on multiple charges Monday.

About 4 a.m. Sunday, police responded to reports of a suspicious vehicle with two occupants near East Bonanza Road and North Maryland Parkway. Police say when officers approached, they recognized one of the people in the car as a suspect in a Dec. 29 robbery, in which a victim was shot.

Police followed the vehicle to the 600 block of North 12th Street where the suspects exited the car and ran in opposite directions. As officers approached, Ogonowski began shooting at them.

Las Vegas police then shot Oganowski, who was transported to a hospital in critical condition. While hospitalized, Ogonowski was booked for attempted murder of a police officer, assault with a deadly weapon, resisting a police officer with a deadly weapon, felony evading, burglary and possession of stolen property.

The woman in the vehicle was identified as 24-year-old Christina Harrington. She was booked into the Clark County Detention Center on charges related to the Dec. 29 incident including robbery with a deadly weapon, conspiracy to commit a robbery and grand larceny auto.

Their names of the officers involved will be released 48 hours after the incident, per department policy.

The investigations into both the robbery and the officer-involved shooting on Sunday remain ongoing.
