Police seek information on Friday night shooting death

Las Vegas police are seeking the public’s help in locating the passenger of a white truck they say was involved in a fatal shooting in the central valley Friday night.

Police said they responded about 8:30 p.m. Friday to D Street at the Interstate 15 underpass where a man had been shot to death on the sidewalk.

Preliminary investigation indicated the man was on the side of the road at D Street when he was approached by the four-door truck with dual wheels on the rear axle. Witnesses described the truck has having tinted windows and a yellow stripe on its passenger side, police said.

As the man approached the truck, the front passenger fired one round at him, striking him. The vehicle then fled, police said.

No suspects have been identified and the motive for the shooting is unknown as of Saturday, Metro said.

The man who died will be identified by the Clark County coroner’s office after his family has been notified.

This was the 50th homicide of the year in Metro’s jurisdiction, 10 fewer than the same time last year, according to police homicide logs.

Anyone with information about the shooting should call Metro’s homicide section at 702-828-3521 or email homicide@lvmpd.com. To remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at 702-385-5555 or visit www.crimestoppersofnv.com. Tips directly leading to an arrest through Crime Stoppers might result in a cash reward.
