Pedestrian injured in central Las Vegas Valley hit-and-run

Updated September 7, 2017 - 4:38 pm

A 77-year-old woman is in critical condition after a hit-and-run crash Wednesday night in the central valley, Las Vegas police said.

Officers responded to the crash about 8:15 p.m. near Sahara Avenue and Decatur Boulevard, Metro Lt. David Gordon said.

Gordon said a white SUV, possibly a Jeep, was heading south on Decatur when it hit the woman in the road. She was crossing Decatur south of Sahara outside of a marked crosswalk, police said.

The woman was transported to the University Medical Center, and police reported about 2 a.m. Thursday the woman was still in critical condition.

The driver kept going and drove south of Decatur toward Pennwood Avenue, and remains at-large. Police said the SUV may have damage to the right front headlight from the collision.
