Man arrested in Arizona in connection with fatal central Las Vegas shooting

A 22-year-old man was arrested in Arizona in connection with a fatal shooting Friday in Las Vegas, the Metropolitan Police Department said.

Asa Brown, identified by police as a suspect in the central valley shooting, is in custody in Gilbert, Arizona, Metro said in a statement.

The fatal shooting occurred Friday morning in the 1110 block of Sierra Vista Drive, according to the statement. The suspect fled the scene before officers arrived.

The man shot was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center’s trauma center, Metro said. He has not yet been identified by the Clark County coroner’s office.
