Man shot, killed Saturday morning in North Las Vegas

North Las Vegas police are investigating a shooting that left a man dead Saturday morning.

About 6 a.m., police received a call of shots fired near Stocker Street and East Tonopah Avenue, officer Aaron Patty said. Upon arrival shortly after 6 a.m, officers found a 51-year-old Las Vegas man suffering from a gunshot wound. Medical personnel pronounced the man dead on the scene.

No suspect is in custody. The investigation continues, but detectives believe the man may have been robbed at the time of the shooting.

The preliminary investigation indicates the man was on the sidewalk when he was shot.
