Man suffers life-threatening injuries in central Las Vegas shooting

A man is hospitalized after a Monday night shooting in the central valley, according to Las Vegas police.

Just before 7 p.m., officers responded to a report of a single gunshot in the 3600 block of Cambridge Street near East Twain Avenue, Metropolitan officer Jeff Goodwin said. Arriving officers located a man suffering from a gunshot wound, he said.

The man was taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center, Goodwin said. The man is alive, but medical personnel said he is unlikely to survive or recover from his injuries, he said.

This incident is being investigated by Metro’s homicide unit, and no suspects are in custody at this time.
