Police investigating shooting in central Las Vegas

A person was shot in the chest Thursday night in the central Las Vegas Valley, police said.

Metro officers responded on reports of the shooting about 8:20 p.m. to the 2800 block of North Pecos Road, near Las Vegas Boulevard North, Metropolitan Police Department Lt. Peter Kisfalvi said.

The person shot was hospitalized, and his injuries appeared survivable, Kisfalvi said.

He said the shooting may have been gang-related.
