According to sources familiar with The Sphere’s planning, the venue is moving ahead with plans for a tailor-made, theatrical production from the Oscar-nominated film director.
“U2: UV Achtung Baby Live At The Sphere” was revealed in superlative fashion, with a quick but dazzling commercial in the fourth quarter of Super Bowl LVII.
Lucas Watson, the president of The MSG Sphere, took the stage at Monday morning at Preview Las Vegas in a square conference center to talk about a rounded fortress.
U2 is inching to a bonafide announcement about this series at The MSG Sphere we’ve been tracking for the past few months.
We expect the MSG Sphere to showcase a custom production-projection show, to run daily throughout the year, to be The Sphere’s anchor.
Larry Mullen Jr. said in an interview this week that he “won’t be performing live next year. I don’t know what the band’s plan is.”
