HAPPY ANNIVERSARY … TO US! WE’RE 1 TODAY

Vegas Confidential, the Web site, marks its first anniversary today with the vow that we'll continue to burn the candle from both ends to bring our readers the best celebrity coverage in Las Vegas.

It was a scoop-filled year that started with shocking headlines — Anna Nicole Smith died on the day of our launch. Our bonus coverage included an interview with her former manager, Joey Battig of Las Vegas.

A week later we put a full-court press on the NBA All-Star Weekend, with hundreds of photos, sightings and behind-the-scenes nuggets. We were the first to report the NFL was calling Adam "Pacman" Jones on the carpet for his involvement in a strip club shooting that left a bouncer paralyzed.

In June we were the first to report Michael Jackson had moon-walked out of town, leaving a rental home in shambles, with two Christmas trees still in place.

In July, we were the only news outlet on the scene when Lindsay Lohan, a day out of rehab, walked into Pure nightclub inside Caesars Palace past midnight with an alcohol monitoring device on her ankle.

Last month, we were the first to have the story and photo when Miley Ray Cyrus visited a children's cancer ward during her concert stop.

And in case you didn't notice, we had the best Miss America coverage, with more than 100 photos in various slide shows and we were on the money with our mid-week tipoff that Miss Michigan Kirsten Haglund was the one to watch.

We continue to be the only Las Vegas-based Web site on the DrudgeReport.com, where some of our scoops have garnered half a million hits before noon.

We thank you for your readership and invite you to keep those hot tips and photos coming our way.
