KATHERINE JACKSON’S PRESENCE AT ‘LEGENDS IN CONCERT’ RAISES EYEBROWS

Vegas Confidential has learned Katherine Jackson, the matriarch of the Jackson family, attended the "Legends in Concert" show Friday night at Harrah’s Las Vegas.

Her presence is certain to raise speculation that she may have been there to check out one of the Michael Jackson tribute artists.

That leads to the question: Are the Jackson family and Cirque du Soleil considering the addition of an MJ impersonator to bolster the lineup of “The Immortal” World Tour, which ends a three-week run at Mandalay Bay on Tuesday?

The Jackson family and Cirque may have come to the conclusion that the introduction of a strong Michael Jackson character could be the difference maker.

Cirque has about a year to come up with the resident version of the show that will open at Mandalay Bay in early 2013.

Cirque has steadfastly resisted having impersonators in lead roles in The Beatles’ show “Love,” which opened in 2006 at The Mirage, and “Viva Elvis,” which is closing soon at Aria at CityCenter after less than two years.
