KXNT DISMISSES PROGRAM DIRECTOR AFTER RATINGS CRASH

After months of falling ratings on the heels of sweeping format changes, CBS radio affiliate KXNT has dismissed program director Bob Agnew, Vegas Confidential has learned.

Emails went out to KXNT staffers late Monday informing them of management’s move, according to sources.

Agnew was brought in from San Francisco last May and quickly made dramatic changes at the news talk station that ranked No. 1 in the fall of 2008 and was among the top five for much of the last decade.

The moves didn’t gain traction and KXNT’s most recent combined AM and FM ratings saw the station slip to 14th.

The reshuffling included: longtime morning host Alan Stock went to afternoons, the afternoon team of Casey Hendrickson and Heather Kydd were let go, Mark Levin’s syndicated show moved from 9 p.m. to midnight and Jack FM (100.5) was switched from music to a news and (briefly) sports format.
