PAUL ANKA: ICE CUBE INCIDENT ‘BLOWN OUT OF PROPORTION’

Singing legend Paul Anka says a domestic squabble with his wife last month was "blown out of proportion."

"Yah, she hit me with an ice cube. There isn't even a scar," the longtime Las Vegas headliner said in an interview Monday.

"It was no big deal, a non-event," said Anka, 67. "The cop told me 'Since O.J. (the O.J. Simpson murder trial) we have to report everything."

"It was missing persons report not domestic abuse," said Anka, who has three soldout shows at the Orleans this weekend.

His wife, Anna, was having a bad day, he said, and threw an ice cube that struck him in the head and caused a small cut. Doctors closed it with two staples. "I was never hospitalized," he said, taking issue with an Internet report.

The incident occurred at 6 p.m. on Nov. 28 at his residence in Thousand Oaks, Calif. When she didn't return home for hours, he turned in a missing persons report, he said. She returned home about 3 a.m.

"Like millions of people, we had a problem. I object to people blowing it up bigger than it is."
