RESISTING ARREST CHARGES DISMISSED AGAINST REES

Dethroned Miss Nevada USA Katie Rees had resisting arrest charges dismissed in a plea bargaining deal Wednesday in Las Vegas Justice Court.

Rees, 23, pleaded no contest to five other traffic counts, all misdemeanors. She was to pay fines that would range from $107 to $740, the latter contingent on whether she could present valid auto insurance.

She was arrested Feb. 7 at 3 a.m. near her home as she was making an ice cream run. She had a front tooth chipped during and altercation with Metro officers, her attorney, Michael Cristalli, alleges. Cristalli told Vegas Confidential he's exploring plans to go ahead with a civil rights excessive force lawsuit, stemming from the alleged incident.

This time, Rees came to court in a more modest outfit. She wore a navy blue suit and blue high heels, in contrast to her sexy white cocktail dress she wore at her preliminary hearing a month ago.

Rees was stripped of her Miss Nevada USA title in December 2006 after photos surfaced on the Internet of her kissing other women and exposing herself when she was 17.
