'Ribbon of Life' set for this weekend

"Ribbon of Life," the Las Vegas-based HIV/AIDS charity Golden Rainbow's annual fundraiser, is scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday and Sunday in the Le Théâtre des Arts at Paris Las Vegas, 3655 Las Vegas Blvd. South.

The original production show will feature performances by cast members from "An Evening at La Cage," "Folies Bergere," "Jubilee!," "Le Reve," "Mamma Mia!," "Monty Python's Spamalot," "O," "Phantom -- The Las Vegas Spectacular" and "Tony 'N' Tina's Wedding," as well as other local entertainers.

Tickets are $35 to $200.

Cannery hosts annual Blues, Brews & BBQ

The sixth annual Blues, Brews & BBQ Festival is scheduled from 5 to 11 p.m. Saturday at the Cannery, 2121 E. Craig Road.

The event will feature barbecue from area restaurants, beers and hard ciders.

Charlie Musselwhite, Walter Trout & the Radicals, Ironing Board Sam, Michael Grimm and Jeneane Marie will perform.

Admission is $5.

A free festival kickoff party, featuring performances by Grimm and Marie, is scheduled for 8 p.m. today.
