Shakespeare festival brings 'Romeo' to town

The Utah Shakespearean Festival's educational tour of "Romeo and Juliet" will stop this weekend at the College of Southern Nevada's Nicholas J. Horn Theatre, 3200 E. Cheyenne Ave.

The group's goal is to present the classic play in a way that helps students relate to the characters and the story. The approach is described as "classic garage-band fashion."

Performances are scheduled for 8 p.m. today and 2 p.m. Saturday.

Tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for students and seniors.

Rainbow Company stages 'Kit Carson'

"Kit Carson's Frontier Adventure," the story of the legendary scout, explorer and trapper, will be performed by the Rainbow Company Youth Theatre starting tonight at the Reed Whipple Cultural Center, 821 Las Vegas Blvd. North.

Performances are scheduled for 7 p.m. today, Saturday and Thursday and 2 p.m. Sunday, with additional performances at 7 p.m. Feb. 15-16 and 2 p.m. Feb. 16-17.

Tickets are $7 for adults, $5 for teens and seniors, and $3 for children age 12 and under.
