'Bodies' exhibit reopens Saturday at Luxor

"Bodies ... The Exhibition," which showcases more than 260 full body, organ and partial body specimens, opens Saturday in its new home at Luxor, 3900 Las Vegas Blvd. South.

The human body specimens have been preserved using liquid silicone rubber that is treated and hardened.

The exhibit had been housed at the Tropicana until it closed July 20 to prepare for the move.

The display is open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.

Tickets are $31 for adults, $29 for seniors, $23 for children 12 and younger, and $28 for Nevada residents.

First Friday returns to arts district

First Friday, the monthly cultural open house and street festival, returns to the downtown Las Vegas arts district from 6 to 10 p.m. today.

The Outdoor Exhibition Spaces, located on Casino Center Boulevard between Colorado Avenue and California Avenue, will feature artwork from selected artists. Activities also are scheduled at the Arts Factory, S2 Art, Nevada Arts Council, the Holsum Design Center, the galleries on Main Street, the Commerce Street Studios and other nearby facilities.

Live entertainment is scheduled for stages at the intersections of Colorado Avenue and Casino Center Boulevard, and California Avenue and Casino Center Boulevard.

There is a $2 entry fee at the gates, and children younger than 12 are admitted free when accompanied by an adult.

Free parking and trolley transportation is available at the Clark County Government Center, 500 S. Grand Central Parkway, with a trolley available at the El Cortez, 600 E. Fremont St.
