Jet nightclub caters to patrons who want to let loose

In a nightclub, dancing shouldn't be confined to a small wooden floor in the center of the room.

It should be done at a table, in a box, on a pole. Anywhere the mood strikes.

That's the attitude promoted at Jet inside The Mirage.

"People go there to really let loose and have a great time," says a club spokesman. "It's somewhere you can go and dance all over the place."

It's a high energy romp room, says Steven Lockwood, the club's marketing director.

Resident DJs Eddie McDonald, DJ Neva and DJ Que spin Top 40, hip-hop, house and mashup most nights, while guest DJs make frequent appearances.

Mondays are industry nights, when the club stages an original promotion for locals, waiving the $30 cover charge for those with Nevada identification. Boobs or Busts, where women competed for breast implants, and the Las Vegas Blonde Shell Awards are two events that were featured during industry night, Lockwood says.

Upcoming events include a performance by Jeremih and the "9 to 5: Partying is a full time job" event. The top 100 partyers from the local nightlife and hospitality industry will be honored, with guests receiving a custom party survival kit. Last year's kit held a lunchbox, cocktail shaker, a mini bottle of Patron, a fresh lime and a shot glass.

Hours are from 10:30 p.m. to 4 a.m. Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Mondays. The average cocktail costs $10 while bottle service starts at $425. The dress code is fashionable attire; no flip-flops, hats, sneakers, tennis shoes or athletic apparel are allowed. Cover charge is $30 for men and women.
