M Resort has portable video poker; Aliante hopes you’ll bring a friend

The Race and Sports Book at the M Resort is offering an interesting "eDeck Royal Flush Progressive Bonus" dollar video poker promotion via special portable hand-held devices. The "eDeck" is approximately twice the size of a Blackberry and can be played in most gaming areas of the casino. Only one game is currently offered, a 95.84-percent version of Jacks or Better with two royal flush progressives to make it interesting. A "regular" progressive grows with every coin bet, and a noon-to-midnight Saturday-and-Sunday-only progressive begins this weekend at $4,400 and grows at $100 an hour until it tops out at $10,000, where it remains until it is hit. Hitting a max-coin royal flush during the designated weekend hours earns you both progressives. Single slot club points are earned on all bets.

Poker players bringing a new player to the poker room at Aliante Station will get an entry into the May 31 drawing for a 42-inch TV. There is no limit to the amount of friends you can bring in, and they get drawing entries as well. The casino serves free pizza and beer 4-8 p.m. every Tuesday.

From 4 p.m.-midnight Thursday through May 31, both the Plaza and Vegas Club will randomly select slot players (using their Players Club cards) to win cash, free slot play or other various prizes. Rewards will be given out every 20 minutes.

The Bighorn and Longhorn casino are offering "Hot Seat" drawings every hour from 2 p.m.-2 a.m. through May 31. Patrons playing in a randomly selected section will get to spin a wheel for a guaranteed win of cash or logo items.

Earn 150 base points ($150 coin-in; no point redemption required) at the Eastside Cannery this Thursday and you can swipe your card to win $10-$1,000 in free slot play.

This Sunday, you can insert your Club Coast card into a Gold Coast slot machine to see if you are one of the 500 lucky people to have $500 in free play deposited into your Club Coast account.

Highest-ranked pizza restaurants in Las Vegas by diners

People have a lot of opinions on pizza, but given that Americans could eat up to 180 slices in a year, it only makes sense that all details are considered when choosing a go-to local spot.
