Fremont Street Experience rocks downtown this summer

Fremont Street Experience’s Rock of Vegas concert series for May and June will turn the downtown Las Vegas entertainment venue into summer’s alternative destination. Celebrating its fifth anniversary, the free concert series has become one of the most popular summertime events in Las Vegas.

This year, the summer started early when the first band, Theory of a Deadman, played Sunday. Featured concerts on major holiday weekends include Fuel and Lit on Memorial Day weekend, Three Days Grace on Fourth of July and Puddle of Mudd on Labor Day weekend. Fremont Street Experience will provide this summer’s ultimate nirvana for rock music fans.

Fremont Street Experience headliner concerts for this summer are: May 25, Fuel and Lit; June 8, Hinder; June 29, Summerland Tour 2013 Alternative Guitars starring Everclear, Live, Filter and Sponge; July 4, Three Days Grace; July 20, Sister Hazel and Tonic; July 27, Eve 6; Aug. 3, The Presidents of the United States of America; Aug. 17, Third Eye Blind; and Aug. 31, Puddle of Mudd. All concerts start at 9 p.m.

“As promised, our lineup for Rock of Vegas is spectacular,” said Jeff Victor, president of Fremont Street Experience. “Join us this summer and enjoy the best value in Las Vegas — free concerts. We are sure you will not be disappointed.”

“In addition, downtown hotels offer fabulous deals on room rates, gambling and food and drink specials,” Victor said.

Seven nights a week, Viva Vision (the world’s largest video screen at 1,500 feet long and 90 feet wide) showcases custom productions synced to the smash hits of some of rock’s most legendary bands. The newest Viva Vision show, “Heart — Crazy on Vegas,” is built around three of the band’s most iconic and popular songs: “Magic Man,” “Barracuda” and “Crazy on You.” Viva Vision also showcases “Bon Jovi — Wanted in Vegas,” which features the three songs “It’s My Life,” “Who Says You Can’t Go Home” and the band’s signature song, and one of rock’s most memorable anthems, “Livin’ on a Prayer.”

Other shows featured are “A Tribute to Queen” and “The Doors — Strange Days in Vegas.”
