Step back in time at Boulder City Chautauqua

Scholars Doris Dwyer and Frank Mullen Jr. will bring photojournalist Margaret Bourke-White and baseball legend Babe Ruth to life respectively during the Boulder City Chautauqua Friday and Saturday at the Boulder Theatre, 1225 Arizona St.

The event begins 6:30 p.m. Friday with a panel discussion of local historical figures. College of Southern Nevada professor Michael Green will moderate.

Saturday's show also begins at 6:30 p.m. Dwyer, a history professor at Western Nevada College, has portrayed many characters. Mullen, an investigative reporter for the Reno Gazette-Journal, has been performing chautauqua since 1999.

Tickets are $15 and are available at 293-1161 or at www.bcchautauqua.org. Proceeds support the Boulder City Museum and Historical Association.
