The Dish: Ringing in 2011 with New Year’s celebrations at Las Vegas restaurants

Among all of the New Year's celebrations in Las Vegas, a few stand out.

The Crown & Anchor British Pub, 1350 E. Tropicana Ave., will ring in the new year with a British New Year's Eve celebration at 4 p.m. today -- midnight in England. A bagpiper will pipe in the year and there will be free champagne and party favors. Oh, and there will be another celebration at midnight.

7-Eleven stores across the valley are doing their part for a safe and sane New Year's Eve with free small coffees from midnight tonight until 6 a.m. Saturday.

The three Memphis Championship Barbecue locations in the valley will offer a free serving of black-eyed peas (considered a harbinger of good luck) on Saturday. In addition, the restaurants are taking orders for black-eyed peas, with side orders at $1.99, pints at $4.50, quarts at $7.99 and gallons at $26. ...

The Memphis locations at 1401 W. Rainbow Blvd. and 2250 E. Warm Springs Road are serving breakfast from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays, with menu items including grits, biscuits and gravy, a Monte Cristo, smoked meats, egg dishes and more. ...

Wednesday is Cinco de Enero at El Segundo Sol at the Fashion Show mall, 3200 Las Vegas Blvd. South, with Loco Hour specials in effect all day. ...

Mr. Lucky's 24/7 at the Hard Rock Hotel, 4455 Paradise Road, has extended its graveyard specials. New York steak and eggs ($4.99) and the Burger Basket Special ($3.99) now are available from midnight to noon daily. ...
