Health district offers required immunizations for students

It’s almost time for school to start, and the Southern Nevada Health District is extending its clinic hours for required immunizations.

Fees start at $16 for one vaccination and $25 for two or more.

Shots are mandatory for students in pre-school, kindergarten and seventh grade.

In addition to the health district’s regular locations and hours, the following shot clinics will be available:

■ 330 S. Valley View Blvd., Las Vegas: Aug. 12-16 and Aug. 19-23, 8 a.m.-6 p.m.

■ 560 N. Nellis Blvd., Suite E12, Las Vegas: Aug. 23, 8 a.m.-4 p.m.

■ 520 E. Lake Mead Parkway, Henderson: Aug. 23, 8 a.m.-4 p.m.

■ 3080 S. Needles Highway, Suite 1800, Laughlin: Aug. 9, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. (Nevada residents only).

The health district will be present at several upcoming events for immunizations as well.

■ Aug. 10: La Oportunidad at the Cashman Center, 850 Las Vegas Boulevard, 10 a.m.-3 p.m.

■ Aug. 17: Back to School Fair at Lorenzi Park, 3333 W. Washington Ave., 10 a.m.-1 p.m.

■ Aug. 22: Back to School Safety Fair and Pool Party at the Bill & Lillie Heinrich YMCA, 4141 Meadows Lane, 5:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m.

The health district will be present at malls throughout the valley over the next few weekends from 10 a.m.-4 p.m.

■ Meadows mall on Aug. 10.

■ Boulevard mall on Aug. 17.

■ Galleria mall on Aug. 24.
