Free gardening classes on tap at Acacia Park in Henderson

For the eighth year, Clark County Cooperative Extension master gardeners will offer a series of free classes at Acacia Park in Henderson.
The schedule for March is:
March 2, Acacia demonstration garden tour .
March 9, Landscape design with native plants in mind: Successful and water-wise landscapes incorporate native and adaptable plants. Participants will learn about the best of them and how to use them in their yards .
March 16, Let it rot; composting 101: Learn the basics of composting for your backyard and learn how to manage a compost pile safely and efficiently .
March 23, Companion planting: Just as with people, compatibility can be important to plants. Benefits include decreasing garden pests and creating balanced eco-system in a landscape.
March 30, Gardening for patios and small yards/container gardening .
Classes will begin at 9 a.m. Advance registration is requested and can be done by visiting www.cityofhenderson.com/parks and clicking online registration.
The sessions are co-sponsored by the Henderson Parks and Recreation Department.
