Junior League members kick up their heels at Bootlegger’s Bash

The active members of the Junior League of Las Vegas took a trip back in time to the 1920s for a party/benefit Saturday at McMullan's Irish Pub.

The pub was transformed into a speak-easy for the Bootlegger's Bash. Members slicked down their hair, wore buckled shoes and loaded on the ropes of pearls to accent their fringed dresses while attending the event billed as the "bee's knees."

Party proceeds will benefit Junior League's educational grants that go directly to Clark County teachers for classroom projects, as well as for another Junior League project that fights childhood obesity, Kids in the Kitchen, which is a project of all Junior Leagues throughout the United States.

Partaking of prohibition-era libations and heavy hors d'oeuvres were Judy Beal, sustaining president, and her husband, Brad Beal, and Denise Olsen, sustaining adviser, with her husband, Stan Olsen.

Among the active members kicking up their heels to the roaring '20s tunes by disc jockey Kevin Cordova were Calvert Collins and Vince Bratton, Britta Carlson, Lauren Murphy, Marissa and Richie Owens, Megan Davis, Rebecca Howell, Sonnya and Eric DeBonis, Michelle Eckman and party chair Rachel Foster.

A silent auction that included a Coach purse drew everyone's attention, and all participated in purchasing opportunity tickets for various surprises.

Also attending were Blair Bradley, Ally Estey, Rhiannon Bach, Ashley Bowers and Kyle Favaloro, Stewart Brough, and Lisa and Chris Metzguer.

Costume contest winners were Calvert Collins, Jennifer Morton, Rachel Foster and Ashley Bowers. Each costume winner received a $25 gift certificate for McMullan's Irish Pub.
