R-VOICE: Do you think grade rounding is fair?

Sean Elezra interviewed students at Green Valley High School.

Jerry Kelley, senior

"It depends on the situation. I think if you get a good grade, you should keep it at that grade. But, if you failed a class, then you should at least round it to a D. For me, a grade is a grade. I'm not really feeling it."

Meghan Bickers, sophomore

"Yes and no. If a student did not work hard enough to deserve the higher grade, then I don't think the teacher should round. But if he worked hard and deserved the higher grade then I think yes."

Kelsey Matthews, senior

"Yes, if they are 1 percentage point away from it, then why not round up? You're so close, so it's unfair not to."

Randy Schacherl, senior

"Yes, because it keeps all the kids equal so no one feels bad or anything."

Bob Aamarillas, junior

"I think it's really fair because we have the opportunity to pass with a higher grade, especially if we try hard enough to earn the grade."
