Water Cooler

Here are a few of the things in news, entertainment and popular culture that we've been talking about lately.

• Researchers study the dangers of "third-hand smoke," the toxic gases and particles that remain long after the cigarette has been put out. Next up: The dangers of "fourth-hand smoke," when fed-up smokers finally lose it and attack anti-smoking researchers.

• An Australian woman allegedly sets fire to her husband's genitals because she believed he was cheating on her. Isn't "chestnuts roasting on an open fire" season over?

• Twice-married Carmen Electra gives People.com her advice for prospective newlyweds: Don't get married in Las Vegas. Like Las Vegas was the reason her marriage to Dennis Rodman didn't go the distance.

• "Mamma Mia!" ends a six-year run at Mandalay Bay. But someday, in a far-off postapocalyptic future, cockroaches will still be listening to "Dancing Queen."

• Host Sharon Osbourne gets into a fight with a contestant on "Rock of Love: Charm School." Surprising, because "Rock of Love: Charm School" is usually such a classy program.
