Water Cooler

Here are a few things in news, sports, entertainment and pop culture that we've been talking about lately.

• Alleged mistresses of Tiger Woods continue to come out of the woodwork. If you're keeping score, Tiger was hitting at least a sextuple bogey last week and was very definitely still in the rough.

• Richard Branson's Virgin Galactic will offer well-heeled amateur astronauts suborbital space flights for $200,000. At that price, the complimentary peanuts had better be made of gold.

• Billboard magazine names Daniel Powter's "Bad Day" as the decade's top one-hit wonder. Talk about your good news/bad news scenarios.

• Clark County buries a time capsule that will be opened at the county's bicentennial in 2109. Simply assuming that there'll be a Clark County 100 years from now is the most heartening economic forecast we've heard in months.
