Water Cooler: Pop culture fun

Here are a few things in pop culture that caught our eye last week.

■ Warren Buffett ■ announces plans to buy NV Energy. Wish it would’ve been Jimmy Buffett, because writing a check to “Margaritaville Light and Power” every month would be so cool.

■ Dunkin’ Donuts adds a doughnut sandwich — a fried egg and bacon between the halves of a glazed doughnut — to its breakfast menu. Eating the glazed doughnut alone now seems almost virtuous.

■ Las Vegas’ St. Joseph Catholic School, which opened in 1948, will close. Parochial school math: The number of knuckles rapped by nuns’ rulers over the years is less than the number of graduates’ heartstrings now being tugged.
