Where to find holiday bazaars in Las Vegas this year
October 3, 2015 - 4:09 pm
With the month of October underway, here is a friendly little reminder: It is never too early to plan your holiday shopping. To aid early-bird shoppers, and to support good causes, the Las Vegas Review-Journal presents its annual list of holiday and craft bazaars.
Trinity United Methodist Church is putting the finishing touches on this year's bazaar to be held from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 24 at 6151 W. Charleston Blvd.
Jo Ann Magner, director of Christian education at the church for two years, estimates the church had an annual bazaar for about 10 years until last year.
"We're trying to restart it," Magner says. "Our new minister, the Rev. Khalif A. Smith Sr., is very enthusiastic about the community."
Magner began planning this month's event in June, and a group of crafters has been meeting at the church every Friday to work on items for the bazaar. Items available will include wreaths, ornaments, crocheted and knitted items, jewelry, Christmas items, throw pillows, hymnal angels made out of old hymnals, scrapbooking items and handmade Christian decor items.
Proceeds will benefit the church's mission projects, including its Society of St. Stephen food pantry, Wednesday dinners and Thursday luncheons for those in need and other missions.
