Wobbly wings are NASA’s future for aviation — VIDEO

New jets are in the works with wings that bend and twist in an effort to optimize fuel efficiency.

The new technology was developed by NASA in partnership with the U.S. Air Force and a private firm called Flexsys.

The main feature: flexible, shape-shifting wings, known as “morphing wing technology.”

The flexible flap technology is just one part of NASA’s vision to reshape the aviation industry.
