3 Clark County schools among nation’s best in PTA excellence

Three Clark County schools have been recognized for their parent teacher associations.
Richard H. Bryan, William and Mary Scherkenbach and John C. Vanderburg Elementary schools were selected as National PTA Schools of Excellence, the district announced Thursday.
They are among only four schools in Nevada and 173 across the U.S. to receive the designation.
“As National Schools of Excellence, families at the three schools feel welcomed and empowered to support student success, and PTA is a key partner for continuous school improvement,” read a statement from officials with the National PTA.
The National PTA School of Excellence designation is awarded to those schools that have demonstrated improvement in the family-school partnership and significant progress toward that goal.
