From bird anatomy to habitat and volunteer opportunities, children will find a good overview of birds and bird watching in “Birdology” in terms that challenge them but won’t frustrate them.
With the Pacific Ocean, tons of sun, mild temperatures and an unlimited amount of outdoor activities in which to take part, San Diego makes an ideal destination for a short family trip. Or perhaps a romantic one.
Glenn Murphy doesn’t just teach in “Evolution: The Whole Life-on-Earth Story,” “Bodies: The Whole Blood-Pumping Story” and “Disgusting Science” — he entertains, too, with a back-and-forth format that seems like a conversation between author and reader.
